I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
